On February 26, Shi Xiaolin, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Governor of the People's Government of Sichuan Province, met with a delegation led by Nurlybek Nalibayev, Governor of Kyzylorda region of Kazakhstan, in Chengdu.
On behalf of the People's Government of Sichuan Province, Shi Xiaolin welcomed Governor Nalibayev on his first visit to Sichuan and provided a brief overview of the province's development. Shi Xiaolin stated that Sichuan and Kazakhstan enjoy a long history of friendly exchanges, and in recent years, these interactions have become increasingly close, with steady progress in cooperation across various fields. The Kyzylorda region, occupying a significant role in Kazakhstan's economic, social, and cultural development, exhibits a high degree of economic complementarity and extensive potential for cooperation with Sichuan. It is hoped that the two sides will earnestly implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, leverage the Governor's visit as an opportunity to intensify governmental interactions, reinforce the friendship city programs, maximize the benefits of the China-Europe Railway Express and other projects, continually enlarge our economic and trade engagement scale, and strengthen collaborative efforts in various fields, including energy, agriculture, science and technology, culture, tourism, and education. Sichuan extends a warm invitation to participate in events like the Belt and Road Conference on Science and Technology Exchange. These efforts will promote our practical exchanges and cooperation to yield more substantial outcomes, enabling us to contribute to the high-quality Belt and Road cooperation and the building of a China-Kazakhstan community with a shared future.
Nalibayev said that Sichuan's favorable development environment and its robust growth momentum are particularly impressive. There is an immense potential for collaborative endeavors between the two sides. It is hoped that, under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, active efforts will be made to establish friendly provincial-region relations and strengthen cooperation in resource development, new energy sector, modern agriculture, and other aspects. We sincerely welcome Sichuan-based enterprises to invest and do business in the Kzylorda region, aiming for mutual benefit and win-win results, thus continuously enhancing the economic and trade cooperation, as well as the friendly exchanges, between the two sides.
Ardak Zebeshev, Deputy Governor of the Kyzylorda region, leading officials of the Kazakh embassy and consulates-general in China, and heads of relevant provincial departments, among others, took part in the meeting.
